X-Japan @ Shepherd’s Bush Empire, England

 

On June 28th, X-JAPAN officially started their world tour at Shepherd’s Bush Empire venue located in England!

At this live, the band performed ten songs – including their new single, “JADE” – in front of approximately two thousand of their European fans. “It’s like a dream. I wish I could stay in this moment forever,” said YOSHIKI to the crowd.

During the encore, YOSHIKI appeared back on stage with TOSHI to deliver a special message about their past guitarist hide, who tragically passed away in 1998. “After hide’s death, I could not imagine myself here. Even after our ten year reunion as a band, I wish hide could be here with us. But, in a way, hide is here with us right now…” he said, trailing off as tears began running down his face.

The performance lasted approximately two hours, and included a ten song set-list. After their performance, top news companies such as Reuters and BBC interviewed the band and covered this event.

“This is my first time coming to an X-JAPAN performance,” said a young English woman about the performance. “I really liked how HEATH played his bass guitar. I was able to meet different people at this event.” Another fan who arrived from Paris early in the morning just to watch this concert enthusiastically commented, “X-JAPAN is an amazing rock band! I’m going to attend all four of their performances [in Europe].”

Shepherd’s Bush Empire was established in 1903 and has hosted other famous artists such as The Rolling Stones, The Who, David Bowie, and Bon Jovi.

new band "PLAYER" ~ ex-Kagrra members

Former J-rock band Kagrra guitarist Shin and bassist Nao have formed a new band called “PLAYERS” under PS COMPANY!

Kagrra was formed in 2000 with five members: Isshi (vocals), Akiya (guitar), Shin (guitar), Nao (bass), and Izumi (drums). After gaining popularity with their Japanese-style costumes and rock sound, the band made their major debut label in 2004 with the single, “Urei“. Seven years later, Kagrra announced that they would disband after their “Shuuen ~Sakura Maichiru ano Oka de~” concert.

The two remaining members will kick off activities once again as PLAYERS, and have already created their own official website. According to the announcement, Nao’s name has been changed to Naoki.

Rurouni Kenshin Live-action Movie

Popular manga by Watsuki Nobuhiro announced to be made into live-action movie. Apparently preparations for movie started 3 years ago and is scheduled for release next year 2012 (filming begins in July 2011). Sato Takeru (above right) cast as main character Kenshin, while director is Ohtomo Keishi.

Director Ohtomo-san commented that :"With the costumes and the sword in his hands, Sato-san is definitely the real Kenshin!" and producer Shinzō Matsuhashi commented, "Satoh has the looks and stature to be a proper Kenshin."

ViViD X "SPECIAL FORCE"

It has been announced that ViViD are doing a collaboration with online community site "hangame" and specifically with the action shooter "SPECIAL FORCE".

On July 13th they will be releasing their new single "BLUE" and the coupling song "CRISIS" is being used for the game. Also, with a special code coming with the single itself, a special web page can be accessed. There, players can obtain weapons, which have been designed by the members, whereas these weapons vary according to the versions of the CD bought.

Moreover, as spray to write "ViViD" on the walls of the game is also available as an item. Details can of course be found on the official homepage of the game.

The blue earth is a symbol means “PEACE”
Due to The Great Earth Quake, lots of people locked away in their heart.
We hope that Japan will be back to one of the parts to color beautiful earth.

We have to make a new feature of JAPAN, one by one.

We hope the time has come when people can smile again by our song
We started the project with some v-rock musicians who have same policy and purpose to help victims of the great earthquake.

Mr. Children -- theme song for english documentary

It has been announced that popular rock band Mr.Children will be contributing a song of theirs to the English BBC documentary "Life".

The song they will be providing has been first released in 2002 on the album "IT'S A WONDERFUL WORLD" under the title "Sosei", which is part of nearly every life performance of theirs.
The song had been used as a theme song before as well and the person in charge or the distribution commented that it is a special song the band wishes to make as many people as possible, to listen to it.

For Mr.Children it is the sixth song that has been used on a movie sound track and the first for usage overseas. With the announcement of the theme song, the details on the movie have also been released whereas the cost surpass 3.500.000.000 Yen, while featuring footage of 3.000 days of nature documentary.

While the view from the animal's perspective is a given, the narration by Matsumoto Koushiro and Matsu Takako seems to be a perfect match, too.

The documentary will be released on September 1st 2011.

Evangelion Sparkling Wine

The online shop for the anime production company ANIMATE is taking orders for limited-edition Neon Genesis Evangelion-inspired sparkling wines, to be sold in mid-June. The wines come in three flavors, with each flavor featuring either Unit 01, Asuka Langley, or Rei Ayanami. Only 333 bottles of each wine type will be produced for 50,000 yen each, and each bottle will be numbered.

"Evangelion Sparkling Eva 01 BRUT Karakuchi" is a dry, not very sweet wine; "Evangelion Sparkling Eva 00 SEC Nakaguchi" features Rei Ayanami and is a semi-sweet wine; and "Evangelion Sparkling Eva 02 DEMI SEC Amakuchi" is a sweet wine featuring Asuka Langley. All three bottles feature the characters drawn in gold print on a black bottle.

The bottles are available at ANIMATE's online shop, as well as the ANIMATE stores in Yokohama, Akihabara, Ikebukuro, Sendai, and Nagoya.
