heidi. Holding Summer Event
It has been announced that heidi. will be performing at Shibuya duo MUSIC EXCHANGE on August 17th 2011 for their very own summer project.
After their 5th Anniversary performance and their first over seas live, there is no stopping heidi. to head even further ahead. While new releases are yet to be announced, the band is sure to not have their fans waiting without action.
The performing artists to appear on stage together with heidi. will namely be CASCADE and universe. Tickets will be available for general sales starting on July 30th. In case you are in Tokyo, make sure to drop by.
Moreover, just one day later, a special celebration live for guitarist Nao's birthday will be held in the same place. However, admission is limited to members of the mobile fan club of heidi. Please also see the official homepage for details on the event.

Totoro Makes 500 Weeks on Oricon DVD Chart
Originally released on September 28, 2001 the film has remained on the chart for almost ten years and is the first DVD to do so since the Oricon began the DVD chart in 1999.
Selling 1,084,134 copies in total, My Neighbor Totoro places at #9 on the Oricon Generation DVD Sales. However the DVD is known to double in sales during summer vacations and extended holidays seasons.

ViViD to Perform at Hong Kong's Largest Anime and Game Convention!
On July 13th, ViViD have been releasing their latest single "BLUE", whereas the title track has not only been used as the recent "BLEACH" opening theme, but also the coupling track "CRISIS" came to be in a tie-up with online video game "SPECIAL FORCE".
Moreover, it has now been announced that, matching the occasion, ViViD will be performing at Hong Kong's largest anime and game convention "13th ACGJK2011". The event will be held from July 29th to August 2nd and the badn is scheduled to make an appearance on the 2nd.

h.NAOTO first US shop
Details on New People's J-pop Summit Festival, which takes place August 27 and 28 in San Francisco's Japantown, continue to surface. The latest announcement is all about style, as Tokyo street fashion brand h.NAOTO will be promoting the opening of their first US shop, with head designer Naoto Hirooka in attendance.
The first h.NAOTO flagship store in the US is set to open in New People's Fashion Floor on Friday, October 7. Prior to that, however, h.NAOTO will open a pop-up-shop during the J-Pop Summit. Naoto Hirooka will also be hosting a fashion show during the festival, and fans of the designer will have a chance to meet him at a VIP party. (Those who wish to attend can get an invite by pledging their support at New People's Kickstarter page.)

Toyoo Ashida Passes Away
Reported that anime director and character designer Toyoo Ashida (67) passed away on Saturday 23 July 2011
Ashida served as the series director for the two Fist of the North Star television anime series, Kuso Kagaku Sekai Gulliver Boy, and Sōten Kōro. He also directed the Fist of the North Star Movie, the Vampire Hunter D video anime, and The World of Narue. His many character design credits include UFO Senshi Daiapolon, the 1979 Cyborg 009 television anime, several Fairy Princess Minky Momo projects, the Ginga Hyōryū Vifam titles, the Chō Mashin Eiyūden Wataru anime franchise, and Gulliver Boy.
In addition to his animation career, Ashida co-founded the labor group Japan Animation Creators Association (JAniCA) in 2007, and served as its first president. He founded Studio Live in 1976, and as the studio's president, he became the mentor of Watanabe, Koujina (the current head of Studio Live), and many other animators.
A private service for family members was held on Monday.
This is truly another very sad announcement and another great loss.
It is definitely not an easy task to express words at such a time...we send our condolences to all his loved ones.

Isshi (Former Kagrra member) Passes Away
Former Kagrra vocalist Isshi was found dead in his hone on 18 July 2011.
This is a certainly a very sudden and shocking news and I'm sure many many of his fans are heart-broken by this. No official details have yet been released regarding his passing away.
By request of Isshi's family and friends, a funeral was already held in a undisclosed location.
It is difficult to find any appropriate words at this time...we send our condolences to his family, friends and fans...
Rest in Peace Isshi~ may your voice continue to project through all time and nations ~お疲れ様でした~

BLUE PLANET JAPAN first single
BLUE PLANET JAPAN has finally set the release date for its first single.
Visual kei charity project BLUE PLANET JAPAN—made of the bands A、DaizyStripper、Dolly、FEST VAINQUEUR、heidi.、TERU（Versailles）、HIZAKI（Versailles）、えみる（愛狂います。）、黒崎眞弥 (己龍 )、手鞠 （amber gris)、雀夜（Lips）、HIRO (ex.Wizard)—will release its first single “Hitotsu Dake~We Are The One~” on September 14th in CD+DVD format. Proceeds will be donated to organizations focused on bringing relief to areas affect by the March Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.

NAOTO (ORANGE RANGE) new solo album "Spaces in Queue”
ORANGE RANGE NAOTO’s solo project, delofamilia, will be releasing a new album titled “Spaces in Queue” on October 5th!

new band "Administrator"
MAVERICK DC GROUP’s new band, Administrator will be releasing their first album, “CROSS” on October 5th. This album will include single tracks such as “Promise” (released back on 12/2010) and “Shining” (released back on 4/2011) for a total of 12 songs.
The CD will be released in two versions: Limited Edition and a Regular Edition. The limited edition will also include a DVD with a music video for their lead song “Trust”, the behind-the-scenes making, and a live concert digest for their live from Takadanobaba ARENA in Tokyo. The regular edition will also include their live songs from that live.

Starting in 2008, they began and focused on their live and have already announced their five singles already. Currently, they are participating in a visual-kei live event, ‘stylish wave CIRCUIT’11 MAX’ and is performing energetically nationwide.
This autumn, they will take part of an eastern Japan tour called ‘WINTER CIRCUIT 2011’. They will be performing at three venues at ell. FITS ALL in Aichi Prefecture (11/25), Shinsaibashi CLUB DROP in Osaka (11/26), and Harajuku Astro Hall in Tokyo (12/10). The tickets will begin its sale starting on October 8th.
Afro Samurai Hollywood Live action
It has been reported that U.S. film producer Indomina Group and GONZO Studios will be teaming up with actor Samuel L. Jackson for the live-action adaptation of the popular Japanese anime, “Afro Samurai“.
This summer, a scriptwriter and director will be chosen, and the cast will be decided by the end of the year. The film will be shot at Pinewood Studios in the Dominican Republic.

It has been announced recently that the ViViD members will be taking part in the dating game "Koi to Shigoto to Kimi no produce", which is available via the mobile site "GREE". Within the game the user becomes a producer in the music business and has to produce the artists. Within the game the ViViD members make an appearance as the produced band's seniors, being greatly admired by the new stars the user is going to make!
Moreover, even though guitarist Reno had recently not been feeling physically well, he has now recovered completely and is taking part in the "PS COMPANY presents Kira Kira Summer Typhoon!! Tour 2011" with the other members.

Gunpla Builders World Cup 2011
Bandai announced that it will hold "Gunpla Builders World Cup 2011," the first competition dedicated to Gundam plastic models in 13 international regions, between July and December.
Participating Regions:Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, America, and Italy.
2011 World championships event will be held in Hong Kong during "Gunpla Expo World Cup Tour Hong Kong 2011" in December 2011.
Two courses offered in Japan: open course for ages 15 and above and junior course for 14 and under.
The preliminary rounds will run from 25 July 2011 to 09 September 2011.
Bandai judges will determine the first round in Japan.Winners of first round will be put on display at Bandai's event booth at the 51st All Japan Hobby Show in October (second round). Judging for second round will be by public balloting and Bandai judges. The third and final round for Japan will be at "Gunpla Expo World Cup Japan 2011".
