BUMP OF CHICKEN vs Final Fantasy

Square Enix recently made announcement about theme song for upcoming PSP game, “Final Fantasy Rei Shiki (Type-0)”. (Originally known as “Final Fantasy Agito XIII“) Rei Shiki will be new installment in “Fabula Nova Crystallis” mythology.

BUMP OF CHICKEN's "Zero" will be used as game theme song.

Director Tabata commented, “‘Final Fantasy Rei Shiki’ won’t be complete without the theme song, ‘Zero’. The song is an essential component that cannot be absent in this game. During the many production meetings with BUMP OF CHICKEN, we made serious arrangements to figure out what was needed to complete this game. At that time, I felt the spirit that they put into the song-making, and it also motivated the development team to work harder. A few days later, I received a demo titled, ‘Zero’. The melody, vocals, lyrics, and the performance that was arranged especially for the game literally pierced my heart. It showed the seriousness of BUMP OF CHICKEN. We used the song in the best way possible for the game. We hope to deliver the maximum force of both parties through this collaboration.”
