The sequel's announcement was made during the live "Sokyu Sakusen" Ustream event for the Sōkyū no Fafner: Dead Aggressor: Heaven and Earth film that aired on Saturday. Other information regarding the sequel, such as whether it will be an OVA or movie, is unknown at this point.
However there is a glimpse of hope for those wanting to get the movie. The Ustream event announced that the Blu-ray and DVD release for the film will be on September 21 (the same day as the main character, Kazuki's, birthday). The Blu-ray version will include footage from onstage greetings during the film's opening day as well as the Ustream event. A collection of TV commercials and theatrical countdown commercials by Kazuki's voice actor, Makoto Ishii, will be included.
